Born and raised in Pembrokeshire, David Davies is a multilingual, fully-qualified Blue Badge Guide for Wales, a qualified trainer with the Federation of European Guides and regularly participates in White-, Green and Blue-Badge courses, both as an instructor and an examiner. He holds several graduate and post-graduate degrees in theology, education and tourist guiding. He has lived in Germany and Belgium, where initially he worked in education and as a translator. Latterly, he became Director of the International Customs Tariffs Bureau in Brussels, often involved in professional discussions in French German Flemish or Russian. He then returned to this country where he continued to work in education and began his guiding career.  He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the British Guild of Tourist Guides.
